Roger is online now Hi...I am having trouble with a CARD ERROR on my JVC GR-D396U Resolved Question: Hi...I am having trouble with a CARD ERROR on my http://manual3.jvckenwood.com/c2a/lyt2431-002en/DNTXSYavwljhfo.html JVC GR-D396U camcorder. I want to record on the SD card and not the tape. I set the camera to MEMORY and get a CARD ERROR. I've loaded a few cards and get the same error. Any ideas for me? Thanks! Submitted: 5 years ago. My name is XXXXX XXXXX it would be my pleasure to help with your issue.Readyrmca http://www.justanswer.com/video-camera-repair/5nwyh-hi-i-having-trouble-card-error-jvc-gr-d396u.html : The first thing to try is formatting the card using the camera setup menu. If that doesn't work, then you may have to direct connect the card to your computer using either the computer's card slot or an external card reader. Once you have the card direct connected to your computer, then go to start>my computer>right click the removable disk that shows up there. Make sure that you know for sure that it's the memory card, then right click it and click format. Format the card to the FAT file system. Then re-install the card in your camera and immediately format it again using the camera setup menu.Readyrmca : If you still get a card error after you try this, then you will have to start looking at the card slot as a possible cause. Remove the card from the camera and shine a flashlight into the card slot. Look for bent, broken, or protruding pins.Readyrmca : Let me know how it goes.Customer: Hi...I can't rouse the menu...the camera shows a picture of a video recorder X M card icon.Readyrmca : I was just reviewing the manual for your camera, and from what I'm reading it doesn't look like it's possible to record video onto the memory card. The memory card in your camera is only for taking still pictures.
