Oracle.net.ns.netexception: End Of Tns Data Channel
ago java.sql.SQLException: Io exception: End of TNS data channel HI, We have a websphere application io exception end of tns data channel oracle 11g and the backend is oracle 8.1.7 on NT. We use JDBC for connectivity to Oracle. We are coming across the above mentioned error for some of the transactions. Also since no ORA- number is returned i'm unable to get to the cause of the error. If anyone of u has come across a similar situation then pl let me know the cause of the error and the solution to it. Until yesterday, everything worked fine. All queries returned a result in an acceptable amount of time. Then I have added some new queries (which are only slitely modified versions of the others) and these run a long time until they might throw this error. Exactly the same queries return _at once_ using sqlplus. Has anyone hints where to start debugging? (Database/Driver/Query) Thanks Chantal D Rog Ranch Hand Posts: 472 I like... posted 11 years ago Have you solved your problem? It seems I have a similar problems, queries processing randomly rises such kind of errors. I checked a listener log, however there was no any signs of problems. Either the connection is timed out or the connection is forcefully dropped by the administrator. These could also occur if the database is designed to drop the connections in case it runs out of short space. I am not a database person but If I were to solve this I would isolate the problem and ask the DBA to monitor when exactly the connection gets dropped.
