Server Error when choosing files. Subscribe via rss Search Discussions Discussions Categories Tags JCE File Manager - Server Error when choosing files. posted in JCE Plugins / Addons Wednesday, July 30 2014, 07:34 PM jorge.bernardo Offline Joomla 2.5.15 JCE 2.4.2 File Manager 2.1.7 Server: Linux - Database: Mysql 5.0 We have uploaded a complex document structure (with several levels of folders) via FTP. Many of the files had special characters in their names that we are changing (I dont know if it has something to do with it). When I try to insert one of these files to an article using the jce file manager button, I get a "server error" message (Image 1.jpg attached), after that, the connection is reset for aprox 1 minute ( Image 2.jpg attached). Then I can enter again. Any help? First of all, our site is IP restricted via .htaccess, because it´s an Intranet. Connections are only allowed from our clients and ourselves. This restriction makes more difficult the process of any malicious activity, and it will block your traffic as well. You can give me your ip from where you are accesing. Otherwise, do you need me to temporary disable this restriction? Let me know. (the error happens from the other IPs too. ) The reply is currently minimized Show Accepted Answer Admin Ryan Offline Wednesday, August 06 2014, 08:14 AM - #permalink We have uploaded a complex document structure (with several levels of folders) via FTP. The reply is currently minimized Show Accepted Answer Admin Ryan Offline Wednesday, April 30 2014, 05:49 PM - #permalink The error indicates that a response format different to that expected by JCE (a JSON string) was returned after the upload. This could be due to a PHP error or by some other content being added to the response text. If you are using Chrome, got to View -> Developer -> Javascript Console, then click on "Network" Click the Clear button, then on the Filter button. Click on "XHR" Try the upload again.
